Knudsen was born in Toronto, Ontario of Danish and Scottish descent. He has appeared in several movies and guest appearances, mostly in Canada. In 2003, he started playing the lead role, "Donovan MacKay", in a new children’s comedy series, Mental Block.
Erik’s most recent role was as Jonathan Ward, the son of the main character, in Bon Cop, Bad Cop, which premiered in theaters during the summer of 2006.
